The Tampa Generals took 4th place at the U.S. Quad Rugby Association's regional tournament in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend. The 3-day tournament pitted the top 6 teams in the southeast against one another. The top 4 finishers qualified to compete in the USQRA Sectionals in Philadelphia, PA, March 23-25.
The Generals won both of their games on the first day of the tournament but lost to the Shepherd Smash on day-2 and the TIRR Texans on day-3. The tournament hosts, Atlanta's own Shepherd Smash, took first place, the Texans took 2nd, and the Raleigh Sidewinders claimed 3rd place.
While 4th place may not be a glamorous finish, it keeps the Generals' post season alive until the Sectionals next month.
